投資數億美金拍攝的電影《F1》，在 6 月 20 日驚喜發佈了一首由“紅髮艾德” – Ed Sheeran 寫的單曲《Drive》，公開播放迄今 4 天已超過 200 萬次點閱收看。

為《F1》製作單曲，Ed Sheeran 在這首歌與 MV 中描繪了在城市中飆速與享受自由的旅程，從歌詞的字裡行間也充滿著對速度的熱愛與渴望擺脫束縛，Ed Sheeran 在歌詞裡以“My Savior” 表達了從困境解脫、迎向新開始的望願，也以“四輪”意象貫穿整首歌，表達對擺脫現狀、追求自由的渴望。

在談及製作這首單曲時，這位曾經來過台灣🇹🇼高雄開唱的葛萊美獎歌手分享了自己為何在眾多邀約之中選擇了參與電影《F1》配樂。

「感覺很好，很期待再次觀看這部電影，因為我之前只在小螢幕上看過，所以很期待在大螢幕上看到它，」接受記者採訪時 Ed Sheeran 如此表示。

「這首歌的創作方向是：圍繞電影角色的旅程和人生來寫，所以這首歌並非關乎我本人，而是關於電影、故事以及角色的處境。」

Ed Sheeran 自己其實是剛好有機會能參與此次電影配樂，因當時他與 Blake Slatkin 正在錄音室，因此就與 John Mayer 共同創作了這首歌，這首名為《Drive》的歌曲由 John Mayer 負責吉他、鼓手是 Dave Grohl 、貝斯手則是Pino Palladino，鋼琴則由 Rami Jaffee 負責。

「我每年都會收到為電影創作歌曲的邀約，」34歲的Ed Sheeran 說道。

「但這次的時機很關鍵。我當時正和 Blake 在錄音室，他是和我以及 John 一起創作這首歌的人。我們當時就想『要不要試試看？』然後就成功了，所以主要是因為邀約的時機出現時，所有的條件都剛好到位。」

「這首歌是我們自然而然創作完成的，John Mayer 用了一個八度音階踏板，然後瘋狂發揮電影是我的愛好，可能也是除了運動之外唯一會讓我感到激動的事物，不只是導演或演員，參與一部電影的創作旅程對我來說真的非常興奮。」
